The main live broadcast never shows the entire show and sadly, each year, the Christian artists are never included. This year, however, the pre-broadcast was streamed live so fans can find out who the winners are long before the sun goes down.

Tye Tribbett and Mandisa were the top nominees with in the Christian / Gospel categories with three nods each. They tied again with two wins each, nearly sweeping the night.

Newcomer Tasha Cobbs gave an emotional speech, dedicating the award to her father, Bishop Fritz Cobbs, who passed away six days ago, a mere two days after traveling with his wife to Nashville to see their daughter win Stellar Awards for Best New Artist, Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year and Contemporary CD of the Year.
