After missing a performance in Lagos, Nigeria, Lauryn Hill took to social media to release a statement and apology video for her fans.

In the clip, Hill assured fans that she would be there to perform on a later date after waiting in the airport for several hours.

"Hello, Lagos. Listen, we're very sorry we couldn't be there with you tonight," she said. "We were at the airport for seven hours yesterday, trying to get to you. But we're gonna make it there, we're gonna get there. We wish everyone a wonderful evening, and we're gonna leave you with this."

Hill even performed an acoustic rendition of "Doo-Wop (That Thing)" with some help from a group of young girls, including seven-year-old daughter Sarah Marley.

The former Fugees singer posted the following message on her official site:

Hello Lagos, Nigeria! We are disappointed to report that we will not be performing at tonight's concert. From our end, we did everything we were supposed to do, including waiting at the airport for many hours, ready to fly out and share the evening with you. Unfortunately, after much effort, the promoter was not able to get all of our travel arrangements taken care of. This prevented us from being able to fly into Nigeria in time to make the concert. We were all very excited to come, and very disappointed that we couldn't make this one. HOWEVER, we are working to reschedule our appearance ASAP. From what we've been told, the promoter intends to honor all tickets sold. Our best to and for Lagos. Love and Blessings!

Hill hasn't had a good track record when it comes to live performances. Back in November, she showed up extremely late to her set at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans. She was reportedly given another set, which she was tardy to as well.
