Back in March, Snoop Dogg dropped a song called "Lannister's Anthem" as part of the Catch The Throne mixtape for the HBO series Game of Thrones. In an interview with the New York Post, he spoke about his love for the epic show.

"When they asked me to do the track, I was more than honored because I'm truly a fan of the show," he told them. "I would have done it for free, but they gave me some money on top of it, so I was like, 'F*ck it, let's do it!'"

He then spoke about what attracts him to the show.

"I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here," he explained, failing to acknowledge that the show is fictional. "I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now."

As for what he's learned from watching Game of Thrones, he said, "That kings still rule and a bitch f*cked everything up, in every situation!"

On "Lannister's Anthem," Snoop raps about the themes and storyline of the show,

"He won this game, king with the crown / Go against Joffrey and he'll cut your ass down / So sick but it's slay sh*t / Debt-payers, pay your dues or you will get dealt with / So much to see, blood in the streets / Incest laying with your blood in the sheets / Pop it, drop it like you wanna leave / Honor, not much amongst these thieves," he spits.

Method Man, Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Ty Dolla $ign, Estelle, Talib Kweli, Yandel and more also contributed songs to the mixtape.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg's new album BUSH is due out this week.
