After nearly five years of being dormant, experimental electronic duo Ratatat are back in 2015 with some brand new music and shows. After premiering their new track "Cream On Chrome" at Coachella the NYC duo of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud have announced their first album in five years, Magnifique. The 14-track album will be released on July 17 via their label home XL Recordings. It will see the band return "to their core guitar-driven sound" according to a press release (via Consequence of Sound). It will also include the band's first-cover, of the song "I Will Return" by Springwater.
Recording was done over four years in Jamaica, upstate New York, Long Island and their home studio in Brooklyn. The album artwork, shown above, is comprised of various sketches done by Mast and Stroud while working in the studio.
With the announcement of the album, they have released a teaser clip for the LP with the opening track aptly titled "Intro." Watch the video below and listen to the second track on the album "Cream On Chrome" as well. See the full album tracklist below.

In addition to the album, Ratatat already did a short tour around the West Coast of the United States to coincide with their Coachella set, but are taking their album o the road for the rest of the summer at dates in the United States and Europe. They will be hitting festivals like Primavera Sound, Governors Ball and Vega Festival. See the full list of dates below.
