Amidst the rumors and speculation about the Odd Future's current status as a collective, one of its more prominent members, Hodgy Beats (real name Gerard Damien Long) has decided to stay out of the drama and stick to what people care about most: music. The "Alone" rapper has used his testing ground, Soundcloud, to share three brand new tracks titled "NOHOOK," "THANKKSGIVING" and "Choppedd."

Each track is very different from the next, touching on different subjects from love to guns to success. The instrumentals vary also, ranging from more laid back, summery tunes to more dark and brooding beats. "NOHOOK" lives up to its name as Long comes out with two verses and lets the beat do the talking for the hook. He is thoughtful on this cut, noting the message of his raps and his place in society.

Innocent or not, I'm still a n*gga
I toned it down a few notches, ain't tryna blow the system
You out here trying to get you some money, playing the victim
Playing like you rich when you hungry out on a mission
I just play by the code, I hitch em and ditch em

With everything going around about Odd Future, it is worth noting that Beats mentions "Golf Wang," another reference for the collective, in "THANKKSGIVING," which is a good sign for them. These could have been recorded a while ago, before any recent tensions surfaced, but all of the problems within the camp appear to have been bubbling for some time now, so this might be a sign things are overblown.

Hodgy has not been totally quiet in 2015, having released his Dena Tape 2 in February. However fans are still waiting on an official album at some point from the rapper. These three cuts will have to keep fans satisfied until we get word about anything else from Long.
