After nearly two years of finishing his sets with the song, former Swedish House Mafia member, Steve Angello has released his highly anticipated single "Children of The Wild" with LA producer/singer/songwriter, DJ duo Mako. The release coincides with International Children's Day, a moment held dear to the "Knas" DJ, himself a father. He is using the single as a charitable opportunity, offering all artist revenue generated from streams on Spotify to the Save The Children and its Nepal Disaster Relief Fund.

"Children Of The Wild" has the soft and elegant touch that is present on his prior album single "Wasted Love." The song has evolved since it was first premiered in 2013, but the same melancholy sound has been present from the get go with children singing the chorus alongside Alex Sear of Mako.

"It's gone through so many different vibes," says Angello to Rolling Stone. "Usually, you overwork it until you realize you need to cut down the fat and go back to basics. What we came back to in the end was just the basics—the bass guitar, the guitar, simple drums and strings."

"A lot of people tend to overproduce a lot of songs," he continues. "I wanted to keep the lead very iconic and very lonely. I wanted it to be that one lead vocal and then this kids' choir. It feels British, somehow. If you look at British rock or indie, back in the day, it was always that lead vocal."

"Children of the Wild" is the second single from Angello's long-awaited artist album Wild Youth, which is expected at some point before the end of the summer, though we have heard that narrative before. He says this project is "that 'real artist' album that in 10 years I can look back on and say, 'That was a great moment in my life.'"
