Eric Church - The Outsiders

On Sunday morning, Eric Church will chat with Mark Strassmann on CBS Sunday Morning With Charles Osgood. Fans can tune in on February 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. ET to hear the self proclaimed outsider talk about embracing who he is and being that guy who doesn't always follow the rules.

"I'm sympathetic to anybody that does their own thing," he tells Strassmann. "I'm sympathetic to people that beat to their own drummer and whether it's popular or not, they do it anyway."

Doing it anyway is what led him to record "Two Pink Lines" and "Smoke A Little Smoke," which were seen as definitely being outside of the box. Then there was the whole getting fired from a Rascal Flatts tour thing in 2006 ... though he admits that it wasn't a great fit from the beginning because he played "too long and too loud during a concert at Madison Square Garden."

Rules in his world aren't necessarily just for other people - he's just not one who likes to blindly follow them! Next week, he'll celebrate that with the release of The Outsiders, an album that he wrote over 120 songs for and then narrowed down to the 12 best, including the already popular, "Give Me Back My Hometown."
