Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows on television and arguably one of its best. Every week, viewers are treated to the anthemic and string-heavy theme song from Ramin Djawadi, which sets the tone for the medieval fantasy series. Now that theme has received a remix from Dutch trance titan Armin van Buuren.

The track was originally premiered during Armin's set at Ultra Music Festival on the main stage during Miami Music Week and it generated a fair amount of hype with the season premiering in just a few weeks. Now with the fifth season wrapping up in the next few weeks, the show has decided to make the remix official and release it to the world.

Armin played it today on his internationally syndicated radio show A State Of Trance and announced that the remix would be released tomorrow, June 5.

The remix gives the work from Djawadi an extra electronic kick as van Buuren speeds up the track to a classic trance BPM and simplifies the string elements to match the added synth layers put in by the Dutchman. Listen to the track here.

Game of Thrones has been heavily involved with music over the past two seasons. Mixtapes have been crafted by HBO and the show with theme of the series in mind that featured a wide variety of artists like Anthrax, Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Ty Dolla $ign and many more.

Don't expect HBO to swap out the original for the Armin mix any time soon, but with the hype of the show at an all time high, this has the possibility to reach beyond the clubs and festival grounds.
