Former Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters has decided to put his own spin on a celebrated concert film by releasing his very own version, Roger Waters The Wall to be released in theaters for one day only on September 29. The film saw its debut at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival while tickets to the one-day showing will be available for purchase beginning June 19.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Waters referred to the concert film as a "protest movie" as it further details Waters' The Wall Live tour that spanned 2010 to 2013 enlightening the lives of around four million fans. The worldwide tour was the largest tackled by any solo artist as it revisited the 1979 Pink Floyd studio album, The Wall, for the first time in 20 years. Incorporating never-before-seen footage, Waters also adds his individual experiences of life on the road as well as the events leading up to his resilient antiwar mentality. Sean Evans co-directed the film with Waters, shooting in ultra-high-definition, notes NME.

In relation to the film's theatrical debut, Waters stated "I hope these worldwide screenings this coming 29th September will be a good opportunity to remember, not just our fallen loved ones, but all the other guys' fallen loved ones. Ashes and diamonds foe and friend we were all equal in the end."

Marking his first live performance in two years, Waters will headline at this year's Newport Folk Festival located in Adams State Park, RI. The festival will span a total of three days from July 24 to July 36 where Waters will perform the U.S. festival for the very first time—his last show took place in September of 2013.
