Kurt Vile has been speaking about new music for some time and now the guitarist has confirmed a new album from himself and the Violators titled b'lieve i'm goin down to be released during the Fall. A specific drop date hasn't been announced but perhaps it will come in September, before his world tour—which was also newly announced—will kick off on October 1.

Vile spent time at a number of studios since releasing the acclaimed Wakin' On A Pretty Daze, including the legendary Rancho de la Luna center in Joshua Tree, where he spent some time jamming along with Mali's famous Tuareg blues band, Tinariwen, as well as Stella Mozgawa, the drummer for Warpaint. Perhaps the products from one of those sessions will be part of what Vile referred to as his "best song ever," which he declared came from that session.

The guitarist has also alluded to more bluegrass-influenced music, and that believe would be his "darkest" work to date, although he also implied "darkest" may mean a "night vibe" and not necessarily a sad one. Plenty to be uncovered from this release and we suppose we'll get a few tastes as the tour and release approaches.
