Deadmau5 has done some interesting things in his life. He has been a special guest at a cat festival, driven the Gumball 3000 and performed in front of tens of thousands all over the world, but this may the oddest one yet. The "Strobe" producer is now being immortalized in a new play occurring at the Al Green Theater in Toronto called Deadmouse the Musical. He apparently was not involved in musical in any way, nor has he endorsed it any way, but the tenor of the show is right up his alley.

The play follows a little mouse, Joel Zimmermouse, played by Chris Baker, who is discriminated against for being a mouse as he follows his dream of being a house DJ. He teams up with his best friend David Goudda (see Guetta) and his love interest Cat, played by Sarah Horseman, (see Cat Von D) to overcome the discrimination of the mouse-hater DJ Avicheese. Goudda and Avicheese are played by Daniel Abrahamson and Adam Jesin respectively.

The play describes itself as "Book of Mormon meets Ratatouille." It does not feature any music from the actual mau5 himself, but an entire original score for the musical arranged by musical director Marrion Abbot Piccin. Deadmouse the Musical will run from July 3 to July 11 as part of the Toronto Fringe Festival. It is 60-minutes long as there are probably only so many electronic music puns one can take before fans would just walk out.

Tickets are available now, so purchase them here if you wish to attend. The creators want you to that this "is a parody and it was written out of love of house music culture." Listen to a few tracks from the musical below.

Turning to the real deadmau5, he just premiered his new stage set up at Governors Ball, which features a large "thunderdome" that lights up, strobes and breaks apart. He also takes a moment during his set to enjoy a beer with the infamous left shark on a couch under an inflatable palm tree.
