Fans who tuned into this year's BET Awards may have noticed that some of the previously announced performers, including Future, were no where to be found when the time came to take the stage. During a recent club appearance, the Atlanta rapper explained his decision to not perform.

According to HipHopDX, Future got on the mic at Los Angeles nightclub Supper Club and broke things down.

"BET, they had a n*gga about to perform up there or whatever, but under the circumstances of me performing...they tried to get a nigga to do some off-brand corny shit," he said in a clip shared on Instagram. "I'm not about to sell my soul for no publicity stunts."

The site notes that fellow ATL rhymer Rich Homie Quan also missed his performance for the awards show. Reports indicate that RHQ ditched the performance after he was demoted and listed to perform as the headliner for the red carpet show before the awards. He later denied being involved in an argument with producers that led to his absence.

Luckily, fans will be able to see Future rock the stage during his upcoming "56 Nights" tour. Last month, he announced St. Louis as the tour's first stop. The buzzing Atlanta rapper revealed on Instagram that he will hit the stage at Harry's on July 4. He has yet to announce the remaining tour stops, billed with the same title as his previously released mixtape dedicated to DJ Esco.
