U2 has always been a bit of an epic rock band, and soon Bono and co. will be a properly cinematic one. Today (July 7), the Irish rockers announced the release of its latest Songs of Innocence visual: a short film for the new single "Song for Someone" starring Woody and Zoe Harrelson.

The short film will have its world premiere on July 9 on Sundance TV, Radio.com reports, with the season three premiere of the TV drama Rectify. Featuring stark imagery and what's sure to be an intense storyline, "Song for Someone" is set to tell the story of a man as he is discharged from prison after years of being incarcerated and readjusts to life on the outside.

The announcement of the "Song for Someone" short film was accompanied by a quick, 15-second trailer. Imagery of Woody Harrelson and a prison can be seen. Among scenes of bright white hallways, a cell and a row of visiting booths, Harrelson is accompanied by guards out of the prison gates.

"Song for Someone" is set to debut at 10 p.m. on Sundance TV. The film was directed by Vincent Haycock. The short film will act as the latest offering from U2's latest album Songs of Innocence; it follows the release and promotion of "The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone)" and "Every Breaking Wave."

Songs of Innocence was released by surprise to iTunes users in September 2014. The album was immediately downloaded to 500 million Apple users with the announcement of a new line of iPhones.
