Ratatat have made its new album Magnifique available for streaming eight days in advance of its official release on NPR's First Listen. The Brooklyn-based electronic-rock duo comprised of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud, have been silent for the better part of five years, sparsely touring without any releases since their 2010 effort LP4. But now, its new LP is here in full.

Magnifique will be released on July 17 via their label home for the past decade, XL Recordings. Stream the full 14-track LP below via NPR.

Recording for the album was done over four years in upstate New York, Long Island, Jamaica and Ratatat's home studio in New York City. The album artwork is comprised of various sketches done by Stroud and Mast in their home studio.

The band have released a few singles over the past several weeks including "Cream On Chrome" and "Nightclub Amnesia," but now fans can listen to the entire thing now.

Despite Genius being primarily used as a lyric site, Ratatat took the time to annotate each song and tell the story behind how the album was recorded and the inspiration behind each tune.

The pair outlined their reasons for taking on the cover of Springwater's "I Will Return", which sparked a fair amount of interest.

"Normally when someone compares a band to Ratatat, I just don't see a connection, but in this case I could immediately hear it. Maybe this is what our music would sound like if we were making music in the 70's without the technology we use now."

Ratatat will be headed out on tour at the end of the summer into the fall for theater shows across North America and some in Europe. See the full details below.
