Ariana Grande may have apologized for licking a donut and proclaiming "I hate America" in a leaked video from a pastry shop, but not everyone is buying that the "One Last Time" singer is a true patriot. After the 22-year-old singer's comments made waves around the Internet, Rob Lowe is dismissing her along with The Dixie Chicks.

The Parks and Recreation actor sent out a message decrying Grande on Twitter to his 1.14 million followers, saying that her apology for hating childhood obesity and not America was nothing more than a joke.

Lowe then went on to further drag Grande, likening her to The Dixie Chicks.

The country trio famously faced backlash in 2003 when singer Natalie Maines declared that they were ashamed to share the same state as then-president George W. Bush. "Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas," she said at a London concert.

Though fans have yet to burn Grande's albums and merchandise like they did to the Dixie Chicks over a decade ago, the singer has faced backlash for her comments, despite apologizing.

"I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my country. What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the donuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words," Grande said. "As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole."
