There's a new addition to the New Edition singer's family. Bobby Brown and his wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown just welcomed a newborn baby girl.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Etheredge gave birth yesterday at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after an induced labor. The couple have been married since 2012 and already have a 5-year-old son, Cassius. This new baby girl is Brown's sixth child overall.
This is definitely a ray of sunshine for Brown, who's been in dark cloud, battling serious family issues for some time now. Bobbi Kristina, his daughter with late ex-wife Whitney Houston, has been in a hospice near Atlanta since June 24 and her health conditions have been taking a toll on her father. In his most recent concert in Atlanta, Bobby was having a hard time getting through his performance, telling the crowd "I'm in a different zone right now." Bobbi Kristina has been in a medically-induced coma for about five months now, after being found unconscious in her bathtub on January 31. When Bobbi Kristina was first moved to the hospice a couple weeks ago, her aunt Pat Houston, told E! News that Bobbi Kristina's condition was deteriorating. She said, "Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition continues to deteriorate...We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She's in God's hands now."
With his daughter's health conditions weighing heavy on the family, Bobby has been able to use his new baby's arrival as a symbol of newfound joy. At the end of May, the couple celebrated the coming of their baby girl, hosting a baby shower in their Southern California home. He posted photos on Instagram of his pregnant wife, captioning "Love.... My lady and My baby." The expecting mom also shared a photo on her Instagram of her decorated belly, captioning it #BestDay #Beautiful #Blessed #Family #Thankfulness #BabyShower." Best wishes to the Brown family as they celebrate a new life amidst challenging times.
