Over the last year, Cash Money Records has been in dire financial straits, which has been ever apparent in the frustrations voiced by its artists, especially its marquee artist Lil Wayne. In an attempt for former Hot Boys rapper Young Turk to get payment in full for royalties due, he sued Cash Money records for $1.3 million back in February and has now settled the lawsuit.

According to new reports, Turk, a.k.a., Tab Virgil settled with Cash Money and Mack Money Music for an undisclosed amount. In May, it seemed as though Turk had won the battle against his former label by default due to the fact that former label home never filed a response to the 30-day extension given by the court.

However, Turk later requested that the lawsuit actually be dismissed which was granted by the judge recently on June 30. At this time, it appears that both parties were able to come to an agreement outside of the courts, and each paid for their own legal defense after dismissal of the case.

Turk originally filed lawsuit against former label home earlier this year for a meager $1.3 million as opposed to Lil Wayne's whopping $51 million dollar suit for not being paid for songs he co-wrote back in the early 2000s.

According to The Advocate, Turk claims he didn't receive payment for around 80 songs he contributed to while under the label. The song catalogue referenced includes Turk's solo project Young & Thuggin, in addition to the songs he co-wrote as a former Hot Boy. The lawsuit alleged Cash Money never registered 34 songs he co-wrote with the U.S. Copyright office, which subsequently caused him not to receive royalties on the songs.

Former Cash Money signees Turk and Wayne are not the first to voice displeasure with the label. Artists such as Tyga and Bow Wow have also come forward blasting the label for its business practices. Fortunately for rapper Turk, he was able to obtain some small victory from the label in effort to move forward with his life.

Luckily for Hot Boys fans this won't be the last we hear of Turk, as the New Orleans rapper will be featured in Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana Fest at Champions Square on Aug. 28.
