In somewhat unexpected news, Lana Del Rey has announced that she is working with Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach on her forthcoming album, Ultraviolence. Although the details of their collaboration have not been revealed, we're suspecting that he is producing the record. Del Rey posted a photo via Twitter of her sitting on his lap. "Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence," she wrote.

It is an interesting pairing considering Auerbach's response when asked what he thought about the singer back in 2012. "On some level, we've seen that Lana Del Rey thing since we first started," he told MTV at the time about her overnight success. "All of a sudden this new band would be headlining festivals and we're like, 'Wait, how did they get that?' We've been here for two, three, four, five years and we're still working our way up. But then they're gone. Just as quickly as they get up there, they disappear." His bandmate, Patrick Carney, added that he "feels bad" for acts like her.

As for Auerbach being her choice for producer, he did take home the Producer of the Year Grammy back in 2013 and has helmed projects for Dr. John, Hacienda, Hanni El Khatib, Grace Potter and others.

News of the album originally came at the December screening for Del Rey's short film, Tropico. Little information has been given about the upcoming release other than it's expected May release date.
