There's no going back. After spending a month atop the Billboard charts, Katy Perry's third Prism single "Dark Horse" has finally received its music video. As last week's teaser promised, the Egyptian-themed clip finds Katy Patra as a highly desirable, magical pharaoh who isn't afraid to get what she wants from men, even if she doesn't have to keep them around.
Taking place in Memphis, Egypt, a "crazy long time ago," the "Dark Horse" video features Perry sitting atop a golden throne as throngs of suitors come to her. There's a man with a diamond as big as your head. Perry wants it but not so much the man, so she turns him to dust and quickly makes herself a ridonkulous grill for her teeth. Bling!
Other suitors offer the cat-worshipping Egyptian (and noted cat lover Perry) a puppy, which she quickly dismisses and her favorite snack Flaming Hot Cheetos. Though, they're too hot and there's no water to be found. So, she turns the guy into H2O, and the problem is solved.
Juicy J also drops into the video quickly in a sarcophagus, raps and leaves. This is not a man's world in Egypt, so best make room for the queen.
Overall, it's what you can expect from a Perry music video: a little sexy, playful and opulent.
