Robert Plant is taking the Sensational Space Shifters along for a unique ride to perform this year's Lockn' Festival for two particularly unusual headliners. According to a press release, Plant is scheduled to perform on September 12 and 13 which will bring a special liberation of "two completely different sets" over the span of two nights. "Plant has never done anything like this in his career," notes the announcement, "and it will undoubtedly make for some unique and historical moments."

Lockn' Festival will commence from September 10 through 13 at Arrington Virginia's Oak Ridge Farm featuring a star-studded bill gathering The Doobie Brothers with the String Cheese Incident, Phil Lesh & Friends with Carlos Santana, Jorma Oaukonen and Jack Casady celebrating Jefferson Airplane's 50th anniversary as well as a performance of Mad Dogs & Englishmen including Leon Russell, Tedeschi Trucks Band and various others, notes UltimateClassicRockTickets are currently on sale for Lockn' Festival with a four-day general admission pass selling for $285. For further information and ticket orders, head to the official festival site.

The Virginia gig follows Plant's jam-packed summer and fall supporting tour of Robert Plant and the Sensational Shape Shifters' 2014 LP Lullaby ... and the Ceaseless Roar. As far as Led Zeppelin goes, Plant has expressed his extreme contempt for a reunion as Jimmy Page officially closed the doors to the iconic rock and roll band's vaults, releasing album reissues and unleashing remixed and alternative takes of fan favorite hits including "In The Evening."
