Taylor Swift missed out on some excellent "Bad Blood" video costars, as it turns out that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are fans. Or at least the pair recited the pop star's lyrics as part of NPR's trivia show Ask Me Another and then the former actor requested membership in Swift's "squad" on Twitter.

Stewart and McKellen are both among the most esteemed actors from across the pond, noted more popularly as Star Trek: The Next Generation's Jean-Luc Picard and Gandalf, respectively—but more acclaimed critically for their roles in more traditional theatre. Both have extended experience with Shakespeare, and—as good friends—have appeared together in productions of Waiting For Godot. Thus the world's greatest bromantic couple appeared together on NPR.

Host Ophira Eisenberg gave the pair a set of lyrics to read in their most theatrical voices, and fans that are the quickest to call in and identify the songs stand to win a prize. Stewart got "Blank Space," while McKellen handled the aforementioned "Bad Blood." You can check out audio of the clip below.

If that wasn't funny enough, here's the exact Twitter conversation that Stewart and Swift carried out later:

STEWART: So @IanMcKellen recited Bad Blood and I did Blank Space on @NPRAskMeAnother. May we join the squad, @taylorswift13?

SWIFT: Thanks for reciting my lyrics, @IanMcKellen and @SirPatStew! You've made my day. You are two ULTIMATE Squad Goals.

STEWART: OMG I DIE!!! (no really, I might. I'm old.)

Check out the Soundcloud clip below and pay attention for his line "OH MY GOD, WHO IS SHE?"

McKellen can hardly be considered a severe fellow, but Stewart has long surprised fans with his irreverence. He has a reoccurring role on Seth MacFarlane's American Dad as the comically obscene director of the FBI, Avery Bullock.
