Former Cash Money Records artist Busta Rhymes' late night gym jaunt apparently went south when he and another workout-goer got into an altercation. According to reports, Rhymes was arrested after throwing a bottle of protein at a fellow gym patron which apparently struck him, causing authorities to be called to the scene immediately.

TMZ reports Rhymes was arrested in NYC at Steel Gym in Chelsea after a late night iron-pumping session. We're not sure what caused the altercation between Rhymes and a fellow patron, however the police arrested The Conglomerate frontman on a second degree assault charge. The rapper was carted off to the precinct and released shortly thereafter.

Rhymes' attorney, Scott Leemon, made a statement on behalf of his client stating, "this is another attempt to take advantage of Busta's celebrity status," going on to call the situation, "a bunch of bull."

Note to Rhymes: Too much adrenaline and testerone can lead to incidents such as these. Luckily no one was hurt in this situation as the victim involved in the incident refused medical attention at the scene, unlike Rhymes who fell off stage last Fall during a performance and suffered a pretty gnarly head injury.

Back in May, Rhymes was also on the scene when five where arrested during the fliming of French Montana's "Off the Rip," featuring Chinx and N.O.R.E, where authorities found many entourage members in possession of firearms and other miscellaneous drugs. However Rhymes was not one of the members implicated in the round up.
