After more than a decade-long absence, Maria Schneider will return to Jazz at Lincoln Center with a performance of previously unreleased, unrecorded music.

A multi-Grammy-winning composer, arranger, bandleader and Upper West Side native, Schneider brings her internationally acclaimed Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra to JALC's Allen Room on March 14 to 15.

"Majestic," "magical," "evocative" and "beyond categorization," Schneider's music has been lauded by critics ever since her last 2003 performance at JALC's Alice Tully Hall.

JALC couldn't do any better with this program. Schneider finds a way to blend her grizzled senses with the modern jazz ensemble--in a way that channels idiosyncrasy from each member's playing.
