Katy Perry has been on a tear recently, setting all sorts of records in the world of Billboard's pop music charts. The most recent statistical accomplishment for the pop star is having more weeks atop the Pop Songs Radio Airplay chart than any other performer in history. Her current single "Dark Horse" spent last week in the top slot, which gave her sole possession of the record, with 46 total weeks as a performer spent at no. 1. As of last week she had been tied with Mariah Carey at 45.

Last week's performance helped Perry set another record, that for most radio plays of a track during one week. "Dark Horse" got 16,151 spins from DJ's, allowing Perry to surpass the previous record of 16,065 that she got for "Roar" during October. So that record didn't mean as much for her, considering same already had it.

Perry has spread that no. 1 success around. She's had 11 different tracks at the top spot, a record she shares with Rihanna (although Perry has been the main performer in every track, whereas Rihanna has been a guest performer on several). "Dark Horse" is the eighth of those tracks to spend more than four weeks on top. Oddly (in our opinion), "California Gurls" had the most success, with seven weeks at no. 1.

Keep in mind that the Pop Songs Radio Chart didn't come into effect until 1992, so Perry's record-while still impressive-isn't the end-all of pop greatness. She never dealt with competition from The Beatles, ABBA, Michael Jackson or other pop behemoths. You might find some of the performers listed on the all-time list rather humorous, based on their current standing in music. Check out the full list below, along with total weeks spent at no. 1.
