Carrie Underwood just released her first new single since giving birth to her son, "Smoke Break," on Friday (Aug. 21) and now the American Idol alumna is detailing her new album. Last night (Aug. 24), Underwood revealed the album cover and release date for her forthcoming LP Storyteller.

Underwood showed off the artwork for Storyteller on Entertainment Weekly. The album takes major stock in the singer's country roots, which are even incorporated in the album cover. In the photo, shot by photographer Randee St. Nicholas, features Underwood looking far more natural than the dramatic photo for her last album, 2012's Blown Away.

Wearing cowboy boots and a bohemian top, Underwood sits with her legs crossed on the ground. Her hair is messy and tussled off to one side.

In an interview with EW, Underwood revealed that this album has its own feel and own sound, and it seems like this one will have more of a natural twang - if the artwork is any indication.

The album cover for #Storyteller October 23rd will be here before ya' know it!

Storyteller is due out on Oct. 23, and though this album will mark Underwood's fifth studio album and she's an industry veteran with a best-of record under her belt, she's still nervous about the release.

"This is the longest time I've taken between studio albums," Underwood said. "I've been listening to some of these songs for two years and to still be excited about them is great but then it's like 'Oh my gosh, is everybody else going to like it?' I'm more nervous now that I've taken time."

Underwood also rolled out the music video for her new single, "Smoke Break" on Monday night (Aug. 24). Watch the visual below via Entertainment Tonight:
