After the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) calamity between Kanye West and Taylor Swift, the country-gone-pop singer's fans have called on her for an important duty-present Kanye west with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, interrupt him or both. Whatever it takes, some fans want sweet revenge while others are looking for a way to finally end the long-running joke. The 2015 MTV VMAs will be hosted by the tongue-wagging, twerk-happy Miley Cryus at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday where West will receive the awards' most prestigious honor.

Fellow award recipients include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Guns N' Roses, Beyoncé, Peter Gabriel and the Beastie Boys, NME notes. In a press release, MTV admired the "All Day" rapper for his "ground-breaking videos, legendary performances and continued impact of music, art, fashion and culture".

Prior to Sunday's ceremony, fans worldwide have taken to social media to convince Swift to honor West with the award, finally ending the "imma let you finish" episode that ensued six years ago. West was so appalled that Beyoncé was "snubbed" for Best Female Video, that he took to the stage to foil Swift's acceptance.

Since then, the two have put the incident in the past while rumors of collaboration concerning a "Bad Blood" remix have stirred up. We can't expect to hear any further Swift-West tunes too soon though, seeing as how the "Blank Space" singer has spent her fair share of time on the road for her 1989 world tour. "He's got a lot of amazing ideas... He's one of those people that's just like idea, idea, idea," the "Bad Blood" singer recently said of West. "He's very creative and... I think we've talked about it but we've also talked about so many other things... I completely respect him as a producer. So, that's all I know now."

The 2015 MTV VMAs will boast performances by an assembly of artists including The Weeknd who will tackle the award ceremony stage to perform his hit single "Can't Feel My Face" for the first time on live TV. West recently filled in for Frank Ocean's FYF Fest headliner, bringing Rihanna onstage from the crowd for a performance of their shared hit single "FourFiveSeconds." Later in the set they reconvened for a rendition of the rapper's 2010 single, "All Of The Lights."
