Tool is not a band to release an album every year, or every two years. The group has set a new standard for delay between new records, as it hasn't created anything since 2006's 10,000 Days. There hasn't been a breakup, as the group tours on occasion. Adam Jones, the band's guitarist and leader (realistically), first declared new music was on the way during 2011. And fans have been waiting since then. But the band has set out on a new tour, and Jones was reportedly overheard telling a fan that the new album was done.

According to Crave Online, a publication based out of Portland, Jones was at a meet-and-greet event in the city before Tool played there Thursday night. His quote, as given by an anonymous source: "100 percent done." Yeah, it's a less-than-reliable report, but it at least falls in reports from drummer Danny Carey that the new album would be released during 2014.

Of course, it'd be nice to see some "physical" evidence that the album is done. Tool hasn't released a single for the supposedly competed record, and they haven't played any new music at any of their concert dates yet. WHAT ARE THEY PLAYING AT?(?!?) Some might assume that no-new-songs-played-equals-no-actual-album-exisiting. But if one band were to tour and not play any new music, just to be that way, it's probably tour. They didn't play any songs off of their original album Undertow either.

Essentially, anything could happen here, and we're sorry to get hopes up. We're paid to give you the news regarding developments, although we all know they could mean nothing. We wouldn't be surprised to see another Puscifer album by the time the new Tool record drops. Probably not a new Perfect Circle record however.
