Chazwick Bradley Bundick (akaToro Y Moi) surprised fans with the unannounced release of a compilation of previously unheard tracks titled Samantha earlier this week. Initially announced through his Instagram account, the album is currently available for download via Dropbox. Bundwick's latest release features an assortment of songs recorded during the winter of 2012 to August 2015 in Berkley, California. An unexpected bounty for fans, Samantha is the perfect follow up to this year's What For?, released through his current label Carpark Records.

Featuring collaborations with Nosaj Thing, Kool AD, Roam Fortune and Washed Out, the 20-something chill-wave hip-hop artist has a reputation for showcasing his multifaceted approach towards songwriting and production. From dance inducing backbeats to a clip from the iconic romance blockbuster, The Notebook, Bundick's genius is evident throughout. It has yet to be determined if the impromptu release of his 20-track album will be followed by an announcement detailing any additional forthcoming projects. Ranging from trippy instrumental to ambient, Samantha is being applauded by critics as the perfect album for the latter days of summer.

The 20 track release seamlessly bridges the gap between avant-garde composition and pop tempos. Toro y Moi's approach towards crafting music is inarguably a refreshing one. Time will only tell if an additional surprise release will follow.
