Insomniac Events has announced the expansion of its new trance festival Dreamstate to the Bay Area in the first few months of 2016. Details are scarce, but the news will get be enough to get Bay Area trance fans excited after seeing the buzz around the Los Angeles edition.

Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella announced the news yesterday on Twitter, causing a flurry of responses for a new festival occurring near San Francisco in early 2016.

The Live Nation-owned electronic music promoter still has to announce the venue, exact date and lineup, but if it is anything like what is going down in Los Angeles, then fans should be very excited about the possibility. Insomniac has used a lot of different locations around the Bay Area for events in the past including the Craneway Pavilion and the Shoreline Amphitheater, so there are plenty of options for Rotella and his team to house trance fanatics for Dreamstate.

The Bay Area edition will follow the two-day Los Angeles festival, which will take place at the end of the year on Nov. 27-28. The event will feature big name acts in the melody-driven sub-genre like Rank 1, Paul van Dyk, Orjan Nilsen, Simon Patterson, Aly & Fila and a Full On Flouro set from Paul Oakenfold.

Tickets sold out almost instantaneously, showing that there is a high demand for a festival like this.

When the LA edition was announced, Rotella spoke about the inspiration for the trance-themed festival, saying, "Dreamstate will be completely dedicated to celebrating trance in all of its forms. Trance fans are some of the most passionate in electronic music, and I hope that Dreamstate will provide them with a promising new destination."
