Disney is the most recent company to buy into the burgeoning popularity and profitability of electronic dance music. The film company announced it would release the album DCONSTRUCTED, which will feature soundtrack songs from Disney films re-imagined and remixed by EDM musicians, on April 22.
There will be a mix of recognizable and lesser known DJ's, as well as a variety of popular and more obscure Disney songs. The Lion King's "Circle of Life" and Randy Newman's "You've Got A Friend In Me" from Toy Story are among the most recognizable tracks that will get rebooted for the compilation. Disney will also offer up a new cut of its current smash "Let It Go," as remixed by Armin Van Buuren. Avicii and Kaskade join Van Buuren among the more prominent performers featured on the album.
Disney has recently featured more EDM in its actual films, which will be reflected on DCONSTRUCTED. Two new mixes from Daft Punk's TRON: Legacy score will be featured, as well as a new version of "Roar," the track contributed to Monsters University by Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso.
