Sam Smith's new James Bond Spectre theme finally has a title, cover art and release date. Yesterday (Sept. 7), the "Lay Me Down" singer finally teased that he will be supplying the new movie's soundtrack song after a year of denying such reports, and now the track's full details have been announced.

According to a press release, Smith's Bond theme song is called "Writing's On the Wall." Though the movie itseld won't be released in the United States until Nov. 6, "Writing's On the Wall" is set for release worldwide on Sept. 25.

Smith is the first British solo male to provide the Bond theme song since Tom Jones' "Thunderball" for the 1965 film Thunderball. The significance of this is not lost on Smith.

"This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it," he said in a statement.

Smith's official Bond theme song announcement comes just a week after he denied reports of performing the new track and one day after he teased that, well, he may in fact be the man behind the music after all.
