As electronic music becomes a larger global commodity, there will be interest to discuss and analyze it from all corners of the globe. The west has dominated the discussion so far, but in the past few years Asia has started to create platforms to discuss the fast-growing musical genre. Now Dubai is getting in on the action with a new electronic music conference that the city will host in February 2016.

According to Digital Production Middle East, the new conference titled Dubai Music Conference (DMC) will host "world-leading" DJs, record labels and music industry professionals in Dubai on Feb. 18-19 at the JW Marquis Dubai.

The event will be formatted like other similar conferences with engaging panel discussions and workshops to bring together brands, artists, technologists and industry executives to discuss and push forward the conversation about electronic music.

After all of the talking each day, there will be plenty of time to party, something Dubai is becoming increasingly known for, with DJs spinning at seven different venues in the JW Marriot Dubai.

The event is being organized and hosted by Blue Leaf, a Dubai-based music consultancy and event management company.

Corey Gibbons, managing director of Blue Leaf, comments, "With the flock of A-list DJs that regularly play the city's superior clubs and venues, it is no wonder Dubai is steadily making its mark on the global dance music scene. As a leading business and entertainment destination, Dubai presents the perfect location for the region's first electronic music festival."

The lineup of speakers, presenters and artists who will fly to Dubai for the conference will be revealed in the coming months.
