Trailing the wild success of the Grateful Dead's Fare Thee Well shows, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann decided they weren't quite ready to call it quits. The trio, hailing from the surviving "core four," decided to team up with John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and multi-instrumentalist Oteil Burbridge for their latest project titled Dead & Company. Having previously announced 10 tour dates, the group announced more gigs, rounding out a total of 29 dead-inspired U.S. shows.

The band's tour launches on October 29 at Albany's Times Union Center, running through December 31. The already announced tour dates are joined by an extended series of November gigs, giving deadheads more excuses to flock all over the country. "Those songs weren't done with us," Weir explained in a statement, praising Mayer's contribution as "the cherry on the sundae that made this project look like a good idea."

"It was a matter of who wanted to get back out on the road and keep doing it. ... It's kind of late in the year to put together a tour, but we're gonna try," he added.

Tickets for the freshly announced dates will be available to the general public on September 18 at 10 a.m. American Express cardholders, however, can purchase tickets via pre-sale on September 19, UltimateClassicRock notes. "Top-tier tickets will be priced under $100, and a number of $50 tickets will be made available in most markets to honor of the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary," a press release notes.
