T.I. may have said that he and Iggy Azalea aren't working together anymore, but he's setting the record straight. In a new interview, the "No Mediocre" rapper clarified the statements he made on "Ebro in the Morning," saying that his "Pretty Girls" protégé is still his "partner," even if they're currently moving in different directions.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Tip revealed that his words were misconstrued when he said that that Azalea needs to take some time for herself to readjust, implying that he had parted ways with his star.

"That's still my partner," T.I. said about the "Fancy" rapper. "Life has taken her in a different direction. My life is still as it was before. But Iggy is doing what she feels makes Iggy happy. That's what she should do. We're focused on making the next Iggy record and dodge the same adversities we faced last time."

T.I. insisted that he didn't mean a "sever my ties, walk away, I'm upset' thing." Instead, he just meant that sometimes distance is the best remedy to fix a relationship or job situation.

"It was more so like, OK, you have a lot on your plate right now. I'm going to pull back or wait until you come to a place where you're ready to come back to the table, so we can start again and make history some more," he said.

The Family Hustle star said that he and Azalea hadn't spoken to each other directly, though he did read her tweets directed at him, wherein Azalea clarified that she had no idea there was any beef between them.

"We speak to each other without having to speak to each other," he said. "It's funny sometimes, but we're straight."

Iggy Azalea plans to release her new album in 2016.
