How many times have you walked into a movie theater, anxiously waiting to laugh your butt off at a Disney Pixar film, but find yourself searching for the closest box of tissues as soon as it ends? If they gave us a warning before watching any of these films like they do with cell phones, it could have saved millions of viewers from balling their eyes out, trying to catch their breath and wiping snot bubbles on their shirts. Finally, the secret reason Disney Pixar always makes us cry during their films has finally been revealed.

The good folks at Above Average took viewers behind the scenes of Pixar's SadLab in their latest video to show them just how hard their experts work and study "the science of making you cry." In this hilarious skit, the creative scientists prove through different case studies and experiments just how effective tears can be in a comedy.

Okay, so this might not actually be the real cause for our roller coaster of emotions during these animated movies, but it's entertaining to watch these specialists of feelings say the things we've been thinking for years.

In the second video entitled, Emotions of Pixar, Vimeo user Lindsay McCutcheon created a six-minute video montage of some of the saddest and happiest moments in Disney Pixar history. The video was inspired by the 2015 box office hit, Inside Out, which explores the five core emotions of one young girl. While each emotion took on its only personality and being in Inside Out, McCutcheon's tribute to Pixar demonstrates how the company has magically managed to make us feel an array of feelings in such a short period of time.

From the devastating blow Buzz Lightyear took to his ego after realizing he really couldn't fly in Toy Story to the heart-wrenching goodbye between Boo and James P. Sullivan, also known as Kitty, in Monster's Inc., these classic animated moments will touch your heart.

So, the next time you plan to visit the movie theater in hopes of watching a Disney Pixar film, be sure to wear some tear-retardant clothing.
