Taylor Swift's new album 1989 is finally available to stream on Spotify - though not exactly in her full voice. The long-teased full cover album by singer-songwriter Ryan Adams finally sees release today (Sept. 21) and is now available on sale and to listen to in full online.

Adams, who first announced his intentions to fully cover and release a version of 1989 earlier this summer, began to deliver the goods last week when his version of "Bad Blood" debuted on Apple Music. The full album, released by Adams' Pan Am label, was promised for Sept. 21 and he delivered.

The album takes the basic structure and full lyrics of Swift's best-selling album 1989 and warped them to fit in more with Adams' sound. Long gone are the synthesizers, glitzy production and the pep of Swift's voice. Instead, Adams brought in heavy guitars, drums and the sort of low-key production he's best known for.

In an interview with Beats 1 Radio (via NME), Adams admitted that he took less sonic inspiration from Swift herself and more from The Boss. He cited Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska as his big inspiration.

"I got back to L.A., it was around Christmas time. I was totally bummed out and I bought a four track cassette recorder. And I was like, I'm going to make 1989 like Nebraska style. Bruce Springsteen Nebraska. Just acoustic guitar, bunch of spring reverb, just me," he said.

Adams also noted that he took on the project because he was "going through a sort of difficult time in my life."
