The music industry's favorite ghouls the Smashing Pumpkins have signed with UTA, United Talent Agency, and hinted at future music plans. UTA is set to represent the band in both business matters and their North and South American tours. The Smashing Pumpkins was formerly represented by the CAA talent agency and X-Ray will continue to set up and handle the bands international touring plans.

"Not only are the Smashing Pumpkins one of the most powerful live bands on the planet, but we see virtually unlimited opportunities for them beyond touring, and we're excited to see where we can take them, UTA representative Jbeau Lewis said in a statement to Billboard.

UTA will also speak for Billy Corgan in regards to his fine art, literary and theater interests, The Hollywood Reporter notes. He is also a member of the creative team at TNA Wrestling, a senior executive producer in television and is reportedly writing a new book. The band are in the process of creating new music after completing a successful tour last summer.

Corgan had quite the commentary on Twitter throughout the tour, tweeting, "To speak to 'why' are we finally being a band that fans have expected to return since the return in 07, there's nothing to fight anymore." He also tweeted "So why NOW? Because it's time: to celebrate the legacy, camaradiere, the journey, the kinship, and the band's unique relationship to fans."

UTA has a variety of clientele in various genres, which includes Mariah Carey, Muse, Paramore, Foster the People, Nickelback, Guns N' Roses, French Montana, Dolly Parton, Action Bronson and the indubitable Kanye West. This past August, UTA obtained The Agency Group, which is the largest independent music agency in existence and added an estimated 2,000 more clients to their rosters as a perk of acquiring TAG.

In addition, UTA now has a presence in seven more cities including London, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Toronto and Malmo, Sweden, obviously a good thing for both the Smashing Pumpkins and everyone else involved.
