Foo Fighters started off on the right foot with the Emmys. At the Creative Arts portion of the award show last weekend, the band took home two awards for its HBO documentary Sonic Highways. However, it wasn't supposed to end there with the Foo Fighters and the Emmys. According to Dave Grohl, the "Something from Nothing" band was supposed to perform during Sunday night's ceremony in Los Angeles, hosted by Andy Samberg, but their performance got booted.

After winning at the Creative Arts Emmys, TMZ was able to get an on-street interview with Grohl to ask why he wasn't there, which is when everyone first caught wind of any type of collaboration with Foo Fighters and the Emmys.

"We were supposed to play on the Emmys, and we gonna play on the Emmys, and then they kicked us off," he said. When the questioner asked why, Grohl responded "I can't tell you. Do your research, but they did.

It is still unclear as to why the Emmys pulled their performance. Did it have to do with timing? Were there creative differences?

After being asked if they would consider playing next year if asked Grohl said, "I'll do anything."

The band walked away with Emmys for Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming and Outstanding Sound Mixing for Nonfiction Programming for their HBO documentary series Sonic Highways.

Grohl has stated that there will be a second season of Sonic Highways, but did not say how it will happen and mentioned it could come in a different format.
