Justin Bieber's new single "What Do You Mean?" has been on fire since it was released at the end of August. It was surprisingly his first song No. 1 song and a late summer and early fall smash. As one might expect, plenty of artists are looking to cover the infectious jam and CHVRCHES with only two days until their sophomore album Every Open Eye drops did just that in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

Some artists change very little with their covers, but CHVRCHES completely flip the track on its head as they ditch the tropical instrumental and add their own live synth heavy rendition of the track as Lauren Mayberry croons the vocals with her own spin and inflection.

CHVRCHES have been known to cover all sorts of large acts like Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston, Lorde and even ZHU. They add their lush synth-pop sounds to these classics, giving them a totally different feel.

The Scottish trio are at the BBC Radio One labs to do some promo for their new album Every Open Eye, which is slated for release on Sept. 25. The album is currently available to stream until it is released on Friday. Check it out here.

Though "What Do You Mean?" has only been out a month, there have been plenty of iterations of it already. Bieber released an acoustic cover of the track not two weeks after its original release. Ariana Grande did a live cover of the track during a show in Houston. CHVRCHES may have been the most inventive thus far, but they surely won't be the last major artist to take on this hit from the Canadian.
