Miley Cyrus has struck up a controversy again--this time with her latest MAC Cosmetics billboard and poster ad, which was called "overtly sexual" and unsuitable, specifically concerning children who come across the ad.

The campaign, which is plastered in shopping malls, showcases the Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz singer lying on her back, dressed in a low-cut bodysuit with her legs spread open in front of a mirrored wall. Complaints immediately rolled into the Advertising Standards Authority, stating that the ads were offensive due to its overtly sexual nature and that they are simply unsuitable for poster display in public settings where children could look at them.

Coming to the ad's defense, MAC Cosmetics explained that it raised money for its AIDS fund program, saying that Cyrus was posing confidently which was designed to reel the viewer into her confidence and "defiant stare." The company further detailed concerns that her pelvic area is extremely visible in the mirror's reflection, arguing that the ad didn't purposefully draw attention to the area, resulting in the fact that it cannot be interpreted as being highly sexual, The Guardian reports.

"While we considered that the images in all three posters were sexually suggestive, we concluded however, that they were not overtly sexual and unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence," the ASA determined.

The ASA further noted that the ads should refrain from appearing within 100 meters of a school, an agreement that MAC already set in motion itself when the campaign was booked with poster and billboard media owners, Billboard reports.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer recently hosted the 2015 MTV Music Video Awards where she shocked audiences with her crazy outfit changes, impromptu fight with Nicki Minaj and dropping her latest surprise album.
