Thousands of ravers descended on Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia this weekend to celebrate electronic music at TomorrowWorld and for many they had a wonderful time. However the weather brought down torrential rains and due to poor planning by organizers, what was supposed to be a fun three-day festival turned into a nightmare on Saturday night when shuttle buses were suspended and attendees had to walk several miles at 2 a.m. in the cold, rain and mud to try and get a ride home.

According to reports, the rain made the festival grounds impassable as shuttles, buses and cars on site grounded due to mud and an apparent lack of preparation for inclement weather. Though most attendees were there to camp, this affected those who were driving each day or bought shuttle passes from their hotels in the surrounding area. Many were stranded after the festival stopped allowing vehicles on site and forced hungry, cold and tired attendees to either sleep on wet grass or mud or walk miles to try and get transportation off site.

To make matters worse, TomorrowWorld shut down the festival to individuals who were not already on site camping on Sunday.

In a statement, organizers explained why they were shutting down the festival to outsiders and said a refund policy would be coming soon for those who weren't able to attend.

"Today, Sunday September 27, TomorrowWorld will only be accessible to visitors currently camping at DreamVille. Continuous rainfall over the last three days has severely limited capacity of the parking lots, entrance roads and drop off locations in and around the festival site. The experience of the TomorrowWorld visitors is always TomorrowWorld's number one priority, so TomorrowWorld was forced to close all daily parking lots and drop off locations.

TomorrowWorld regrets that festivalgoers with day tickets, guest list tickets, and anyone not already camping at DreamVille will unfortunately not be able to access the festival. The last day of the festival will go on for the 40,000 visitors already situated in DreamVille, with David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren, and Martin Garrix all on deck. More information and refund policy will be available soon."

Who is to blame is up in the air. TomorrowWorld should have had a contingency plan for extreme weather with parking as an option, but is cannot control all weather. An alternate pickup location not blocked by mud should have been created for shuttle buses. Fans complaining about cell service forgot they were in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by individuals all using their phones and having water for the ride home should have been a necessity no matter what.

Check out a few tweets and photos below that look like a scene from The Walking Dead. This certainly isn't going to help the already rock botton SFX share price
