Australian producer, DJ Harley Streten, better known to the world as Flume, took over the BBC Radio One airwaves on Friday night to premiere his debut Essential Mix. The mix includes tracks from Vic Mensa, Vince Staples, San Holo, Amon Tobin, Troy Boi and five exclusives from the "Some Minds" DJ himself.
Flume introduced the mix, by letting listeners know that he "wanted to make it a bit of journey, not a straight up dancefloor mix," which is possible when you have two hours to work with. He mixes together some spacey house music, synthy bass tracks, hip-hop and a bit everything in between during the two hours Flume was given control of the Essential Mix airwaves.
The mix comes at a time when Flume is prepping a brand new artist album, the follow up to his breakout 2012 self-titled debut. The three untitled tracks are presumably going to be included on his album, but nothing is confirmed.
