Demi Lovato is kicking butt and taking names in the new music video for "Confident." Just one week ahead of her new album's release, the 21-year-old pop star dropped the visual for her latest single. And she's a big, bad ex-convict on the road to revenge with a little help from Furious 7 star Michelle Rodriguez.

The music video for "Confident" kicks off on a bleak note for Lovato, who is residing in a maximum security prison. After a short interrogation, she signs away her life to be a secret agent and is branded. But, soon she's double-crossed by Michelle Rodriguez and labeled a "traitor" by the national media.

The video then finds Lovato once again attempting to escape her kidnappers and break out on her own, and she slays plenty of men along the way with some major action sequences. Eventually, she and Rodriguez team up, as fellow captives once branded by the same captors. After they bond they attempt to take the big, bad men out of work. And, spoiler alert, the badassery continues and they totally rock it.

If the music video looks a little bit like a real, short action film, that's because it was directed by Sin City director Robert Rodriguez. And it's Lovato's biggest and baddest cinematic music video to date.

"Confident" is the second single from Lovato's forthcoming album of the same name and follows the release and promotion of "Cool for the Summer." Confident will be released on Friday, Oct. 16.
