Deadmau5 isn't exactly new to the video game industry. His music has been featured in numerous titles and he's a playable character in DJ Hero 2. The newest entry for the DJ's video game appearance history is a tad more subtle, but loads more clever. Blizzard, the creators of the Diablo series, have slipped an easter egg referencing the producer into Reaper of Souls, an expansion for Diablo III

Deadmau5 makes his appearance in the form of an amulet that can be picked up by players. There's no denying the reference, as the charm is shaped exactly like the performer's famous headpiece. Plus, it carries the title "Halcyon's Ascent," which sounds like typically cryptic Dungeons & Dragons terminology, but is actually a citation of Deadmau5's former performing alias, Halcyon441. Furthermore, the description of the item reads "Raise your weapon... raise your weapon... and it's over," also lyrics to his song "Raise Your Weapon."

The actual stats boosts that the amulet grants you are apparently minimal (according to reports from gamers). "Cold skills" deal 18 percent more damage, increases damage against "elites" by 10 percent and "reduces cool down of all skills" by 5 percent.

The Deadmau5-ian aspect of the item comes into play when you use the "Vengeance" skill. You "mesmerize nearby enemies with your skill, causing them to jump uncontrollably for 8 seconds," the game reads. When this happens on screen, enemies actually seem to be raving around your character.

Pretty solid work, Blizzard. Not quite as awesome as a Deadmau5 helmet, but we'll take it.
