Kendrick Lamar kicked off his fall tour in a special way last night, performing for the first time with a full orchestra, more specifically the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. He joined the symphony to perform his critically acclaimed album To Pimp A Butterfly with his live band also in tow. The Kennedy Center shared an official video of his performance of "These Walls."

The clip gives you pretty good indication of what K.Dot is bringing to his more intimate shows. The orchestra sounds on point with his backing band, adding an extra level of musicality to his tracks and the productions that back his thoughtful rhymes.

There is plenty of fan interaction, including shout outs of crowd members who are really into it or a birthday girl. This type of fan interaction isn't unfamiliar to Lamar. At Sweelife Festival earlier in the summer he brought a fan on stage to sing "m.A.A.d. City" with a sing the words with him.

The performance at the Kennedy Center sets up his upcoming Kuntas Groove Sessions that will bring eight intimate shows to eight different cities across the country. First he has a few larger arena shows to get out of the way, but then he will do his special intimate shows with Jay Rock and Wesley Theory.
