On Thursday(Oct. 22), Adele announced that she would be releasing her long-awaited third studio album 25 next month, and that a new single "Hello" woud be dropping today along with an official music video. Now, the wait is officially over. The singer has released her lovetorn music video for the dramatic single.

According to a press release, the music video, which was shot in mid-October just outside of Montreal, was directed by Cannes Jury Prize winning director Xavier Dolan and features a cameo by actor Tristan Wilds, best known for his role on The Wire.

"It was a privilege to direct the music video for Adele's beautiful, heartbreaking song," said Dolan. "When I first heard it, all the images were already running by so clearly in my head - and her trust and generosity allowed me to create freely."

The heartfelt track is a stunning new ballad, but that's not surprising for Adele. It starts off quiet and slow, with a simple "Hello" from Adele, before blasting in to the type of emotional ballad that only Adele can really pull off.

The highly anticipated follow-up to 21, and first album since 2011, is due out on Nov. 20 via XL Recordings/Columbia Records. The album art shows an Adele who's ready to get back in the game with both feet in. You can pre-order the album via iTunes and get the new single today.

In a recent long-winded post to Twitter, Adele detailed her inspiration for the new album. "My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record," she wrote. "I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven't got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What's done is done."
