On Sunday evening (Oct. 25), Weezer kept its promise and finally released an official music video for its new single "Thank God For Girls," and, can anyone say cannolis...?

The band had debuted the single during a live performance for iHeartRadio last Tuesday, where they played the song twice for the audience in order to capture it for a later release. The band had further confirmed via a Facebook post that they would be officially releasing the single Monday (Oct. 26).

The video is an eerie homage to the cannoli... That's right, your favorite Italian dessert is the star of the clip. In fact, the opening lyrics of the song read "The girl in the pastry shop / With the net in her hair / Is makin' a cannoli for you," with the last line of the first verse reading "Come home she will / Be there waiting there / For you with a fire in her eyes / And a big fat cannoli to shove in your mouth."

Odd lyrical content aside, the song itself is particularly synth-heavy with frontman Rivers Cuomo sort-of rapping the lyrics, and it's a bit of a departure from Weezer's previous album Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

As Substream reports, this video may not actually be the official music video, however, since the band had reportedly filmed another video for the track in a church in Southern California last week.

It still hasn't yet been confirmed whether this new single will appear on a brand new upcoming album or not, but Weezer's last and most excellent 2014 LP Everything Will Be Alright In The End should be enough to keep you content until further new music plans are announced by the band.
