The co-creator of the FOX Wednesday night hit show Empire, Lee Daniels, is in the process of casting for his upcoming TV series Star. Daniels is holding an open international casting call as he looks for new talent to fill the roles of his lead characters.

According to The Urban Daily, Lee is on the international hunt to cast four lucky women in the roles of Star, Cotton, Alexandra and Simone - the four young women who make up the Atlanta based all-girl singing group that the new TV series is set to focus on.

Entertainment Weekly reported that Daniels is set to begin production on the new series, which will also air on Fox in December, and is the first production under the exclusive deal between Daniels and 20th Century Fox TV that was signed in June. The multi-year overall deal allows Daniels to "develop, write, direct and supervise new television projects under his Lee Daniels Entertainment banner," while remaining in the position of executive producer for Empire, according to Variety.

Empire remains a successful breakout show for the network and the hope is that the new development, Star, will bring the same ratings. Below is a listing of what Daniels is searching for during the casting call for the lead roles.

Star is described as a Caucasian female, about 18 years old who's a "tough chick with a badass attitude." Alexandra is a young African-American female, about 20 years old who has elegant yet classic beauty. Simone's character is half African-American, half-Caucasian, and is Star's younger sister who looks about 16 years old. With the last character, Cotton, Daniels is looking for someone very specific - a transgender. Cotton is described as a transgender, half African-American and half-Latina woman who looks to be 16-years-old.
