Band of Horses fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of a new album produced by Grandaddy's Jason Lytle since it was announced more than a year ago. Now it appears the wait is nearly over, with frontman Ben Bridwell declaring an early spring release in a recent interview.

According to Stereogum, as translated from an interview with Spanish blog Binaural, Bridwell proclaimed "It's almost all done. After [finishing an unplugged tour in] Zurich I'll spend two weeks at home, to be with my family. I'll take the opportunity to mix the record. All that's left is one small vocal part of a track, that's it."

The album is currently being mixed by Dave Fridmann who has worked with the likes of the Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev and MGMT. It's also tentatively slated for a Spring release, according to the interview. Bridwell also goes on to describe the record's sound.

"I think it's close to Infinite Arms," Bridwell said to Binaural, as translated by Sterogum. "It has some density to it, in fact I think it's even more dense than Infinite Arms. The album was produced by Jason Lytle, who was a member of the band Grandaddy. If you listen to his band you'll see that they're very cinematic, very symphonic. It was very cool to trust in him. It will be a very dense record."

Band Of Horses recently released a stripped-down live album titled Acoustic At The Ryman, which can be streamed here.  Since last year's announcement of a new album, Ben Bridwell has also toured and released a collaborative album with Iron & Wine's Sam Beam.  The band also recently welcomed a new baby into their lives.
