While appearing on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier today (October 29), British rockers Foals threw down a cover of Florence + The Machine's (FATM) "What Kind of Man" for the overjoyed host, and they absolutely nailed it.

According to NME, today's appearance on Clara Amfo's mid-morning show was rescheduled from a previously booked appearance that was postponed due to frontman Yannis Philippakis losing his voice temporarily.

The FATM cover is intense and semi-dark when compared to the original track, but Philippakis' vocals are supremely well-executed. We'd like to think that Florence Welch would be proud. Afterwards, the band reportedly performed their own hit single "What Went Down" off of their most recent LP of the same name.

The band will tour the UK for nearly the entire month of November, with every single date sold out in advance. They will then head over to the U.S. for a string of tour dates, the first of which is a sold out November 29 appearance at The Wiltern in Los Angeles for the Red Bull Sound Select 30 Days In LA concert series. You can check out a full list of their tour dates and stay up-to-date with the band via their official website.

During a recent interview with NME, the band's frontman spoke about their fourth studio album What Went Down, which is out now on Warner Music UK. "A lot of bands get to the fourth album, and feel like they need to 'take a break'," he stated. "Recharge. Go off and do solo stuff. We were completely the opposite."

He then went on to elaborate on the change he's noticed in his songwriting process. "I think it has fundamentally altered the way I write lyrics now," he stated. "But the one shortcoming of doing that was that things ended up being maybe too direct, because I also like lyrics where one line doesn't - to the naked eye - follow the next, so I've looked for more of those."

You can head over to iTunes, as well as most other digital outlets to pick yourself up a copy of the new LP today.
